About Rory

As the Director of Wellness at David’s Refuge, Rory brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for health and well-being within the community. Rory has dedicated her career to empowering caregivers with health education and tools to support personal wellness, promote self-care and foster a culture of living a healthy balanced lifestyle.

At David’s Refuge, Rory spearheads the wellness initiative. Through comprehensive opportunities, education, and support, Rory is developing programs that address the physical, mental, and emotional health needs of the community, helping to combat caregiver burnout. Her approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by caregivers and their families.

Rory is known for her compassionate leadership and ability to build strong relationships with community partners, volunteers, and David’s Refuge families. She is committed to creating inclusive and accessible wellness opportunities for all, and is continuously seeking innovative ways to enhance the organization’s offerings.

Outside of her professional role, Rory enjoys spending time with family, friends, her amazing husband Mark and their beautiful children Hugo and Grace. As a special needs mom herself, she works to create balance in her life, which further fuels her dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. Rory’s favorite mantras are “Find Joy” and “Live A Great Story”. Both of these inspire her unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of wellness in everything she does.

Why did you choose to work at David's Refuge?

I loved the idea of being able to come alongside families like mine and pour love, compassion and hope into them.


Where would your dream vacation be?

Paris and then the French countryside.


What's on your playlist right now?

Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, John Denver….I like to mix it up!


Who inspires you?

My mom. She lived each day walking in love, pouring compassion into other and always looking for simple ways she could make someone’s life better. Each day I pray that her legacy lives on in me.
